NZ's new Government: NZ First chooses Labour

NZ First leader Winston Peters has announced his decision after several Government negotiations.

He has sided with Greens and Labour.

During his announcement speech on Thursday evening, he said the decision represented the majority view of MMP.

He said siding with National would have meant a "modified status quo", versus with Labour, it would mean "change".

Mr Peters said it was the "decision of the New Zealand people" and that the call was one from NZ First, rather than solely his decision.
