PNG Fashion Week will be showcasing fashion designers and models from across the country and region in October 2019.
This will be its third season and the week is scheduled from 7th to 12 October.
This year’s theme is “cultural renaissance” and it will explore how creative vision and the cultural infrastructure of Papua New Guinea come together in redefining, through the fashion landscape, the idea of Papua New Guinea. It is a platform that will expose and identify PNG culture and tradition through the lens of fashion. It is a rebirth of age old ideas that help shape the discovery of self and the construction of the future.
The week-long event, which includes educational workshops, digital presentations, panel discussions, immersive experiences and social mixers will highlight PNG’s extensive cultural history, its emergence on the fashion scene and its sustainability in PNG, the Pacific and beyond.
It is a week of opportunity to connect with the innovative and forward-thinking fashion and creative and cultural industries community both locally and abroad.
