Miss Nauru hosts first fundraiser

Miss Nauru Lucina Detsiogo hosted her first fundraising event at The Bay Restaurant at the weekend.

The dinner was island formal and served up a 3-course meal ending with a very large cake saying “Congratulations Miss Nauru”.

While the DJ and MC did a great job entertaining the 80 or so guests throughout the evening, Lucina greeted her guests at their tables during the meal.

The guests also took part in a mini pageant especially for them. Miss Nauru was the sole judge selecting the best dressed male and female, and another prize for the Bold and Beautiful lady, and Handsome Hunk for the men.

Lots were also drawn for three mystery door prizes that included entry tickets to another Miss Nauru fundraiser to be held around May.

Miss Nauru and some of the former pageant contestants danced two numbers finishing off with a solo by Miss Nauru herself.

Lucina also presented dress up tiara sets with earrings and feather shawl to the only three little girls in attendance.

Miss Nauru will make several appearances throughout her reign to speak about important issues such as education and culture.

A very big tubwa kor to our MC James Vaele for his time and for singing a couple of tunes. Thank you also to the Bay Restaurant for the venue, and of course to all the guests for supporting Miss Nauru’s fundraising event.

The Miss Nauru Organising Committee will be organising more fundraising events for Miss Nauru throughout the year to assist in her preparation for her activities throughout the year as well as her trip to Samoa to represent Nauru in the regional Miss Pacific Islands pageant.

If you would like to show your support and be part of her preparation, you can donate to her wardrobe by donating material, dresses, shoes and accessories.
