Fiji assistant police commissioner under investigation, sent on leave

Reports from Fiji say an assistant police commissioner, Henry Brown, has been sent on leave pending investigations.

This has been confirmed to FBC News by Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho. Qiliho says it’s too early to talk about what the allegation is –only mentioning that it is serious in nature.

“Yes, I have asked Henry Brown to go him to go on leave. There was an allegation- a serious allegation that came up which I needed to be investigated. So I have asked him to go on leave…so he is currently on leave overseas at the moment and he should come back to work on the 19 of January.”

ACP Brown has requested for extended leave which has been granted by Brigadier General Qiliho today.

He is expected to return to work next month.
