Beddoes quits Fiji opposition administration

A key administrator within Fiji's opposition Sodelpa Party, Mick Beddoes, has resigned.

Beddoes has left his position as the principal administration officer at the Office of the Leader of Opposition for what he describes as personal reasons.

He says his decision to step down does not mean his support for Ro Teimumu Kepa will end.

Beddoes says the Sodelpa headquarters needs a big shake-up to replace most of the deadwood there.

He says it has individuals running it who think they know politics, but are really just rookies or political novices.

Beddoes was the opposition leader in the parliament shut down by the 2006 military coup.
